The Brief

Crieff Hydro Hotel is one of Scotland’s leading Spa Hotels, which has been in business for over 150 years. The hotel, although not quite as we know it today, was officially opened for business in 1868. The Crieff Hydro is set amidst Perthshire stunning scenery in Crieff (unsurprisingly!)… right in the heart of the lush Countryside of the Strathearn Valley.

Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels has become one of our longest standing clients- loyal customers of ours over the past 20 years. After forging a great relationship with the Leckie family and their team, we now return year after year to help maintain and keep this beautiful building looking sharp and as efficient as possible.

Through the years we have gained many other business opportunities through this relationship. We were invited by our clients to their Ballachulish Hotel to measure up their windows, with the vision of us bringing new life back to their beautifully shaped windows, so that their guests could admire the stunning views through new, clean glass and in the warmth that only a TJ Ross window can achieve!

We have also formed a long and lasting relationship with Architect Jimmy Denholm through the Crieff Hydro, and we have been introduced to many projects on the back of this one such as, The Cromlix Hotel, The Glenturret Distillery, Inverlochy Castle and several individual clients over the years.

On our most recent visit to The Crieff Hydro Director Alyn met with owner Fiona Leckie who explained which bedroom windows were needing replaced. After a brief chat and survey, Alyn measured up the first phase of the project, on this occasion 6 sash and case windows were required.

The Results

The weather was on our fitting team’s side when they attended to install the 6 custom made Sash and Case windows (which are always a painted finish in colour Gardenia!) on a spring Monday in May. Giving these hotel bedrooms a refresh and ensuring they are keeping all the heat in, so their guests are kept warm and comfortable.

Alyn has been back to the Hotel recently and after another survey and measure up, our workshop team have been instructed to manufacture a further 7 Sash and Case windows for the second phase of the bedroom renovations within the hotel. We are looking forward to these being completed and ready for installation in the coming weeks.

We have also been in negotiations with them over some very exciting plans they have for their new Winter Garden which will involve a complete restoration. We have been working with our client and design team to manage and meet expectations both in terms of the design itself and the timescale in which they would like their works to be completed. We were absolutely thrilled when they accepted our quotation and given the go ahead for us to undertake this project- which will be one of TJ’s largest to date! A part 2 case study on this will be available soon, so watch this space for full details of this exciting project!
